The community there hasn’t yet come to a consensus about usurping, so we’ve been denying each such request. The <a href="http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Single_login_specifications#Transition_period" rel="nofollow">SUL spec</a> notes that users will eventually be able to login with their home wiki suffixed. Is that still the plan? We would like to mention that syntax as a future workaround, in the event that a local user has already taken the user name.
